I certain that every teacher, administrator, Secretary, janitor, EA, librarian, cafeteria staff, etc felt the start would be smooth. Just the contrary. I said just yesterday after the first full week of sciool that I felt I was on a treadmill on the fastest speed and no stop button. How is this possible in my 31st year. I should have felt that 20 years ago when my children were in early elementary grades. Not! It is NOW that I face this. Honestly, at 51 years of age, this just might be the end of my career. I truly hope the next generation of teachers are prepared…I mean PREPARED to advocate for educational rights and freedoms that I have known during my career. If they do not get involved and learn about the NSTU and the role membership plays, then education is going to change drastically. I encourage our universities to speak the truth about how politics impacts every person in society regardless of voting or not! Can this train speeding out of control please STOP! I want to teach, be respected, feel ready, be prepared, know our support system, feel rested, & know the new agendas that I believe are lurking just below the surface. We must work together for one common goal – educate our youth for the 21+ centuries.
