SUMMARY:Chronicle Herald Information Picket
DESCRIPTION:THIS WEDNESDAY MORNING (July 13th) from 10:30am onwards\, the Halifx Typographical Union is asking supporters (members of other unions\, progressive community groups\, individual supporters of good independent local news written by professional unionized journalists\, etc.) to join them for leafleting and secondary information picketing on Spring Garden Road in Halifax. \nMeet at 10:30am on Wednesday July 13th in front of the new Halifax Central Library on Spring Garden Road\, and we’ll split up into teams and do some information leafleting and picketing at “scabvertisers” in the Spring Garden Road area\, including: \n• Bryant Realty at 1470 Dresden Row\n• Touch of Gold at 5640 Spring Garden Place\n• Domus Realty at 5880 Spring Garden Road\n• John David Shoes in the Park Lane Mall on Spring Garden \nOthers will stay in front of the Halifax Central Public Library on Spring Garden Road to hand out leaflets to folks passing buy and encourage the to BOYCOTT The Chronicle Herald *and* the companies that persist in advertising in the Herald. \nFor those who join us\, the Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council will be also giving away FREE buttons that volunteer union members & allies made this past weekend in support of the striking newsroom workers (as pictured). \nAs a reminder\, the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour has called for a FULL BOYCOTT of all companies who continue to advertise in The Chronicle Herald during the strike: See the following link for more information on the Federation of Labour’s boycott call: \nhttp://nslabour.ca/…/labour-federation-supports-call-boyco…/
