DESCRIPTION:Poets for Progress invite you out for another round of spoken word in support of local charities\, non-profits\, and community groups! \nIn Partnership with Word On The Street. \nRebecca Thomas Poet Laureate of Halifax will be our host for the evening. \nGeorge Elliott Clarke The Canadian Poet Laureate will be our feature. \nDoors ‘open’ at 6:30pm\, come grab your drinks and a good seat\, open mic will start at 7:00pm followed by our slam\, and then our feature for the night. \n-Open Mic-\n\nAnyone is welcome to perform at the open mic! You do not have to perform spoken word\, we welcome story-tellers\, musicians\, comedians or even people who would like the read pieces from other poets and writers (as long as you state the author’s name). \nYou can sign up early on Facebook by posting in the event or messaging Martha Mutale or sign up at the door. \n-Poetry Slam-
