SUMMARY:Treaty Day Celebrations at the Truck House
DESCRIPTION:Please join us in two very different events for our Treaty Day 2016. \nSaturday\, October 1st is Treaty day: \nWe invite you all to come to the truck house for a day of celebration\, reconciliation\, fishing and feast. \nTidal Bore: Approximately 1 pm to be confirm. \nCome and support the Sipeknekatik district in exercising our treaty protected rights to fish. Join us for a potluck feast.\n(There is no funding for the feast\, but we have always had plenty of food at the Truckhouse.) Food and drink donations will be welcomed. We will be fishing\, teepee painting\, sharing stories and songs. \nBoat trips to Treaty Island after hightide from 2 to 5 ish.  \nStart time: 1 pm and you are welcome to stay over for the weekend. Bring tents\, blankets\, flashlights and layers of clothing.
