SUMMARY:Information Picket\, Canada Post Review
DESCRIPTION:The Liberal government has launched a review of Canada Post. On September 13\, the appointed Task Force released their “discussion paper”\, which was written with no public consultation\, little dialogue with CUPW but LOTS of conversation with CPC management\, resulting in them taking CPC’s financial projections at face value. The conclusions in the discussion paper reinforces every bit of propaganda that Canada Post and right-wing groups have been trying to perpetuate since 2011. \nFrom September 26 to October 7\, public consultations will be conducted by the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates. CUPW has learned that each meeting will only be 3 hours and speakers will be limited to 5 minutes to address the Committee. \nTo ensure that the Liberal government knows we expect them to take this process seriously and conduct it fairly\, CUPW Nova Local plans to hold an information picket outside of the consultation at the Delta Halifax at 1990 Barrington Street in Halifax on October 4 with our members and our allies
