Amherst: Rally for Diversity

August 16, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THIS RALLY?

1. To promote diversity

2. To educate the public and town officials on the need to call upon Municipal Affairs to fast track the necessary policy changes.

3. To highlight the many forms of discrimination present in today’s society.

4. To promote a positive Amherst!

We will meet behind the old Dayle’s department store at 12pm, and then march in solidarity past Town Hall, arriving at Victoria Square. Once we’ve reached our destination, we will have the opportunity to listen to an impressive line up of speakers, both local and from all over Nova Scotia, who are excited to educate and inspire!

The list of speakers includes:

Jason Blanch – council candidate
Jerry Hallie – mayoral candidate
Jason MacLean – NSGEU President
Hugh Gillis – NS Federation of Labour representative
Raymond Tynes – mayoral candidate (Truro)
Crystal Staes
Glenda Talbot

Watch for more names to be added soon!

Please share this event with your friends and family, and come out to show your support for our diverse community!
