An online panel discussion about the unique needs and issues facing Indigenous communities when accessing mental health care services in NS.The Social Justice Committee at the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers is hosting a panel discussion featuring first voice participants and social workers in honour of National Indigenous History Month.
This panel will focus on the unique needs and issues facing Indigenous communities when accessing mental health care services in Nova Scotia. We intend to livestream on the NSCSW Facebook page, and to share a recording here afterwards for those who are unable to join the live event on Zoom.
A video of a previous Big Ideas panel discussion is available to watch on our Facebook page. And earlier this year, we published a research paper about mental health care in this province, and the role of social work in those systems (https://nscsw.org/reposition). Our well-being is inextricably linked to our lived experience, our environment, and our social relationships.
