Fish-in on the Shubie!
August 20, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join us on the river bank to fish, celebrate the Shubenacadie River, and show Alton Gas that our opposition is as strong as ever!
Bring rods, baskets/buckets for fish, picnics, and lawn chairs. Fishing takes a lot of time – you should get comfortable! Musical instruments welcome. Make yourself at home on our river bank.
All of us have the right to travel on the “banks of the watercourse” through the Angling Act. Even though the land is now leased to Alton Gas, the public is still allowed access to the banks for the purposes of fishing.
To get to the river bank, take the 102 to the Stewiacke exit (exit 11, with the mastodon statue). Head east off the highway towards highway 2. Turn left on highway 2. Turn left on Riverside Road/Fort Ellis Road. Stay right when the road splits, and look for the Mi’kmaq flags. Go a little further, on the left side down the access road to the river dyke where the cute shelter is.
Join us on Saturday August 20th from 10am until 2. Contact Ken at 369 2821, Robin at 223 8526, or Vinny at 229 3063 if you have questions.
