Students Chalk Grand Parade

HALIFAX– On Thursday, August 18, students will be chalking messages about municipal issues and how they impact students at Halifax’s Grand Parade Square. Members of the public and city councilors are encouraged to take part too, and to engage with students on these issues.

The Generation Vote campaign calls on municipal decision makers to address issues important to students, such as: affordable housing, arts and culture, fair wages, food security, and public transportation. The Halifax Regional Municipality is home to approximately 35,000 university and college students, or 8.5% of the total population.
The Canadian Federation of Students is Canada’s largest students’ organization, uniting more than 600,000 university and college students from coast to coast.
