Wolfville: Risks of Energy East Information Session and Discussion

July 3, 2016 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Energy East Information Tour:
The Ecology Action Centre (EAC) is hosting a series of information sessions in coastal Nova Scotian communities along the Bay of Fundy to discuss risks of the proposed Energy East pipeline to the Bay of Fundy.

The EAC’s information sessions, (dates and locations listed below) are a chance to discuss details and risks of Energy East, and hear feedback and concerns from coastal communities in Nova Scotia about the project.

TransCanada’s Energy East pipeline and associated export terminal in Saint John, New Brunswick pose risks to the entire Bay of Fundy due to associated marine terminal and increased tanker traffic in the Bay of Fundy, through the Gulf of Maine. Tanker traffic would increase by nearly 330 million barrels, or 290 tankers per year. This would impact coastal communities, fisheries, and much of Nova Scotia’s mainland coastline, especially the Bay of Fundy.

Visit www.savefundy.ca for more information on the risks of the Energy East pipeline, and details regarding the upcoming tour.

All are welcome. No RSVP is needed. Send questions, concerns or ideas regarding these events to Stephen Thomas at the Ecology Action Centre:
