Flash Mob in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en

When: Saturday January 12, 2019, 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM

Where: Mic Mac Mall, 21 Mic Mac Boulevard, Dartmouth

No to “Consent by Gunpoint!” End Colonial Violence! Solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en!

In the spirit of Indigenous resistance, there will be a flash mob round dance at Mic Mac Mall this Saturday at 12:30pm. Exact details of where to meet within the Mall will be announced soon.

Although the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs gave temporary access to RCMP and Coastal Gas into Unist’ot’en Yintah (territory) on Wednesday night, this agreement came at the threat of violence on their people.

Read the Unist’ot’en statement “This is not over” here for inspiration and more calls to action: http://unistoten.camp/thisisnotover/

The Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs have NOT agreed to let the Coastal GasLink pipeline tear through their traditional territories.

As a way to voice our opposition to both the RCMP’s forceful intrusion onto Wet’suwet’en land, and this recent “Consent at Gunpoint” agreement, we are organizing this and ongoing actions to denounce this colonial violence.

*We are currently looking for more drummers, especially those that know the round dance song. If you are able to drum at the flash mob, please get in touch with us at Sakura.saunders@gmail.com.
