Colonial walk is going to be amazing! Collectively, people whose histories are reflected in the plaques, statues and commemorations will speak about history from the untold side of these monuments. As public debate rages about public space and memorialization, this is a chance to come and walk through the history together. Meeting at the main gates of the Public Gardens at 7pm. We will walk to Province House as we tour downtown from a decolonial perspective.
At 8:45PM, join us at City Hall for a screening of It Takes A Riot, documenting the Yonge Street Uprising in 1992 and the struggle in the 80s and 90s in Toronto against police.
A night of history and public education!
