Wanted: Writers and generous souls

KJIPUKTUK (Halifax) – Just a quick reminder that we are always looking for experienced writers to tackle the kinds of topics the Nova Scotia Advocate is known for – poverty, racism, labour, radical art, inclusion, etc., always with a focus on Nova Scotia.

We also want to hear from you if reporting is not something you typically do. Tell us what it’s like to live in poverty, navigate the streets in a wheelchair, to have to fight with Community Services or to struggle to get the mental health supports you need. Things like that.

Send us a brief outline, and we will get back to you. If you are an experienced writer we know to leave you alone, and if it’s the very first time we will help you all the way.

We pay well, and we pay quickly.

Click here for a sample of the many stories we have paid for over the years.

We also need your help if you’re a reader rather than a writer.

A pay wall is not an option for us, since it would exclude many of our readers who don’t have any disposable income at all.  Please join the kindhearted people who support the Nova Scotia Advocate, either as a one-time donor or a monthly sustainer.
