WHAT:  Rally & March/Car Caravan

WHEN:  Saturday, Oct 24 12:00 (noon)

WHERE: Start next to the Africville Museum Site

FB event: https://fb.me/e/1Mk8Wk8jw

Join the residents and survivors of Africville for a protest and car caravan on Saturday, October 24th, beginning at noon at Africville (beginning at the Museum site.)

We will be meeting at noon to decorate cars for the car caravan.  Bring banners / posters / etc. Following a rally at the museum site, join the car caravan to drive along the boundaries of Africville as the community demands long-overdue reparations.

For more than 8 years, Africville descendants have been seeking justice through the courts. They say enough is enough: it is time for action and reparations.

The people of Africville  call upon all communities and allies to come out to support this generations-long fight for compensation and dignity.

The government not only stole property and destroyed everything in the community of Africville, but generations of trauma have been inflicted by the deliberate destruction of a way of life, of knowledge, and of ancestry. The community is standing up and saying “reparations now!”
