Wellness Within is profoundly disappointed by the news that Harsha Walia has been forced to resign from her position as executive director of the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association. Harsha’s activism, scholarship and community organizing have moved us closer to the abolition of borders and policing as well as meaningful action towards reconciliation with Indigenous peoples in Canada. We deplore her ill treatment by an organization that should support her truth-telling.
Wellness Within is a registered non-profit organization working for reproductive justice, prison abolition, and health equity in K’jipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia).
