This Saturday, March on Halifax will bring you the Victims of War Rally to highlight how war has deeply affected women and our communities as a whole.

We cannot remain silent, we must demand that our government not be complicit in wars that affect innocent lives around the world and at home. This year we will be highlighting the disproportionate effect of war on women.

Women like Masoumeh Ghavi, Mandieh Ghavi, Dr. Sharieh Faghihi, Maryam Malek, and Fatemeh Mahmoodi who were part of the 176 victims of “collateral damage” in the precarious political situation between Iran and the USA. These Nova Scotian women will not be forgotten, nor will the actions of Iran and the USA that led to this tragedy.

Co-sponsored by Nova Scotia Voice of Women for Peace, March On Halifax will feature esteemed guest speakers El Jones, Linda MacDonald, Lenore Zann, Joan Smith, Dr. Sura Hadad, Judy Haiven and more pending.

March On Halifax acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. We encourage all genders to attend this peaceful rally in support of women.
