KJIPUKTUK (Halifax) – In this weekend’s weekend video the PLANifax people make a good case for free transit in Halifax. Timely too, with municipal elections around the corner.
You know, the way transit was made free in Halifax when COVID-19 first arrived.
They also suggest a way to pay for it, through an increase in property taxes, and show how that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
However, there are other ways to deal with the costs. The property tax approach is just one, but federal and provincial governments have to step up as well.
