In her first book, Punished for Aging: Vulnerability, Rights, and Access to Justice in Canadian Penitentiaries (University of Toronto Press), Schulich School of Law Professor Adelina Iftene looks at the challenges that older individuals in Canadian penitentiaries face and their struggles for justice while they’re living their “golden years” behind bars.
The event will feature an introduction by Senator Kim Pate (LLB ’84), followed by a reading and discussion of some issues raised in the book by Professor Iftene. A book signing and reception will be held in the atrium beginning at 7:30 PM.
