Media release: Climate Strike Halifax to hold candlelight action for the 5 year anniversary of the Paris Agreement.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On December 9th between 4-8pm, Climate Strike Halifax, A.K.A School Strike 4 Climate Halifax will hold a covid-friendly candlelight action to remind world leaders of their duty to uphold the Paris Agreement and fight for 1.5 degrees of warming. There will be international events happening between the 9th and the 12th in order to bring attention to the 5 year anniversary of the Paris Agreement and every country’s failure to limit 1.5 degrees of warming. We will be spelling out “fight for 1.5” in tea candles at grand parade. Therefore we ask the public to contribute by dropping by with a candle to add.

*Note, the anniversary date is on the 12th, but we (like many other groups across the country) are holding our event on the 9th so as to not interfere with any Hanukkah celebrations.

What: Candle Light action

When: December 9th, 2020 from 4-8 pm
